Combining acoustic and electronic sounds, Matteo’s music is located in the dialogue between man and machine, between natural and artificial.
Matteo starts with sounds recorded directly on-site, in the places where his various performances will then take place. He modifies them digitally until they become a memory, a flavour of what surrounds us, changing them to stimulate the memories of those who live in these places as they find themselves listening in a new light to their daily sounds, newly crafted.
With a beginning in the natural world, Matteo’s performances use technology to take the listener to a new space, challenging them to move through this space, reconsidering the sounds and sensations of the places they inhabit, once the performance is over and everyday life returns to dominate.
